Les tops musicaux 2011 de la presse spécialisée

Cela dit, d'une certaine façon ça correspond assez au fait que la chanteuse n'ait jamais vendu autant que d'autres artistes contemporaines cataloguées plus commerciales, plus grand public (Lady Gaga qui vend beaucoup tout en apparaissant dans un seul top, Beyonce...

On est d'accord. C'est ce que je disais plus haut. Ces artistes sont tellement populaires que même certaines revues orientées plus "indé" et pointu musicalement les mettront dans leur top... cela fait toujours bien et peut ramener du lectorat. SEB, qui pour moi se situe dans la même "zone", en moins populaire comme tu l'as fait remarquer, ne peut accéder à ses classements du fait de sa moins grande popularité (ce que je disais dans mon message précédent).

A son échelle, Sophie Ellis-Bextor est une artiste indé, au sens d'indépendante (non rattachée à une maison de disque type EMI ou Universal) dans la musique pop actuelle, cette dernière s'étant retrouvée justement sans maison de disques pour sortir son album après des conflits/divergences l'année dernière. Elle a crée son propre label et sorti son album seule (enfin plutôt bien entourée). Ses deux premiers albums étaient sortis en import, le premier en 2002 chez Polygram UK. Le troisième en revanche, Trip the light Fantastic -son premier chef-d'oeuvre- avait justement été distribué par Polydor France. J'ajoute à la liste des albums electro/pop que j'ai adorés cesd trois dernières années, le fantastique Nightwork de Scissor Sisters que je n'avais pas cité précédemment.

Quand je parlais d'orientation (plus ou moins) indé pour bon nombres de ces revues/webzine, cela ne repose pas sur la définition factuelle du mot indépendant dont tu parles (à savoir sur une maison de disque indépendante). Certains artistes pouvant être signé sur des grosses maisons de disques seront typés indé selon certaines revues; inversement, des artistes signés sur des labels indépendants ne sont pas "indés" dans leur esprit. Pitchfork ne critiquera jamais (ou presque) un disque de SEB par exemple (ce n'est qu'un exemple, je le cite car nous parlions de cette artiste). Le mot indé s'inscrit plus dans une acceptation générale... Il est vrai que ces revues imposent aussi (un peu) le label indé aux artistes. C'est eux qui les classe indé auprès de l'opinion publique en en parlant.
