en effet jeanne crain nous a quitter le 14/12 d'une attaque cardiaque,mais rappelons nous d'elle dans le western avec notement:

l'homme qui n'as pas d'etoile...1954

la première balle tue....1956

tonnerre sur timberland...1959

les trois western les plus connus de "jeanne crain" sur les cinq qu'elle tourna,so long madame crain

tu doit confondre jeanne crain ne tournas jamais dans ce western c'est "joanne dru"vala james

Vicki - Harry Horner

Un top model est retrouvée assassinée chez elle. Un policier mêne l'enquête et harcèle la soeur de la victime et le "producteur" de la mannequin.

Vicki est le remake de I Wake up screaming qui mettait en vedette Betty Grable et Victor Mature. Au départ on se croit dans un "remake" de Laura, avec une musique "à la", le générique sur fond de tableau-portrait de la jeune femme, le policier amoureux de la victime qui ceci étant est vraiment décédée contrairement à Laura. Nous sommes dans le pur film noir avec cette victime, ces assassins potentiels, la narration en flashback mettant en relief la personnalité des différents coupables potentiels, mais aussi de ce policier obnubilé par la traque d'un possible innocent, le harcelant. Si Jean Peters éclatait de sa beauté dans Capitaine de Castille, ici elle est plus femme fatale et suscite que fort peu d'empathie tout comme Jeanne Crain dans le rôle de sa soeur. Les acteurs sont assez fades d'ailleurs, même si Elliott Reid est tout à fait correct dans le rôle du possible innocent persécuté. Et naturellement il y a Richard Boone, détestable à souhait en policier tourmenté. Vicki est un très honorable film noir, au rythme enlevé.
